ABOUT

FLOOR exists for the rooms that move careers in DC.

Real rooms. Right people.

THE THESIS

DC already runs on rooms. We just made them findable.

Washington runs on receptions, briefings, salons, and dinners — the rooms where careers and ideas actually move. They already happen. They just get organized over scattered email threads, broken Eventbrite links, and group texts nobody can keep up with.

FLOOR pulls them into one place. Sorted by industry. Sized for real conversation. Hosted by people whose names carry weight in the room.

HOW IT WORKS
01
Request access

Tell us who you are and what industries you work in. FLOOR is invitation-based and we keep the network curated.

02
Find your rooms

Browse upcoming events in DC, filtered by industry. See who's hosting, who's coming, and what kind of room it is.

03
Get approved, show up

Hosts personally review every request. When you're approved, you're in. Always free for attendees.

WHO IT'S FOR

DC professionals who take their careers seriously.

Hill staffers, agency officials, lawyers, lobbyists, founders, operators, reporters, consultants, and the people who shape policy across nine industries — Policy & Gov, Tech, Finance, Law, Media, Healthcare, Consulting, Real Estate, and Nonprofit.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

These are commitments, not features.

I.
Curation over scale.

A smaller room with the right people beats a bigger room every time.

II.
Rooms over algorithms.

A real person decides you belong. No feed, no ranking, no engagement loop.

III.
Introductions happen in person.

FLOOR gets you to the room. The rest happens face to face.

IV.
DC first, always.

We're built for Washington. Everything else is a question for later.

V.
Hosts decide. We don't.

No algorithm ranks your request. A real person at the room chooses who walks in.

VI.
What happens in the room stays in the room.

No public guest lists. No published attendance. No data sold. The room is the room.

VII.
The host defines the audience, or there is no room.

Every event answers one question first: who belongs here? If a host can't say, FLOOR doesn't run it.

THE FOUNDER
Chris Pitt, Founder of FLOOR
Chris Pitt
FOUNDER & BUILDER
NEWNAN, GA → WASHINGTON, DC

Chris grew up in Newnan, Georgia and came to Washington, DC for Georgetown University — and never left. After graduating, he kept running into the same problem: DC is full of ambitious, talented young people who never end up in the same room.

FLOOR is his answer. Built from scratch as a solo passion project, it's the platform Chris always wanted but couldn't find — intimate by design, curated by intention, and made for people who take their careers seriously.

Step onto the floor.

Free for attendees. Always.
