Terms of Service

By creating an account, requesting access to an event, or otherwise using the FLOOR platform at floorapp.co, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

FLOOR is a curated professional networking events platform operating in Washington, DC. We provide technology that allows event hosts to list and manage invite-only professional events, and allows attendees to discover and request admission to those events. FLOOR is a platform — we do not organize, operate, or take legal responsibility for any events listed on the platform.

FLOOR is currently in beta. Features may change, be added, or be removed without notice.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use FLOOR. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older, that you are a professional operating in good faith, and that all information you provide is accurate and complete. FLOOR is currently available only to users in the United States.

You may create an account using an email address and password, or by signing in with LinkedIn. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@floorapp.co if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

You may not create accounts on behalf of others, impersonate any person or organization, or provide false profile information. FLOOR reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

If you provide a mobile phone number during registration, you expressly and affirmatively consent to receive SMS text messages from FLOOR, including:

• One-time verification codes (OTP) for account access and sign-in
• Transactional event confirmations, approvals, and reminders
• Messages from event hosts regarding events you have RSVP'd to

Message frequency varies, typically 1–5 messages per week. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for assistance. Providing your phone number is optional and is not a condition of using FLOOR.

You agree not to:

• Provide false, misleading, or incomplete profile information
• Attend events you have not been approved for
• Harass, threaten, defame, or harm other users, hosts, or FLOOR staff
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose, including spam or fraud
• Attempt to circumvent the platform's access controls or reverse-engineer the service
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute content from the platform without written permission
• Use FLOOR to solicit users for competing services

FLOOR may suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

Event attendance on FLOOR is subject to host approval. Submitting an RSVP request does not guarantee admission. Hosts have sole discretion over who they admit to their events. FLOOR does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or occurrence of any event listed on the platform.

If an event is cancelled or modified, FLOOR will make reasonable efforts to notify affected attendees but bears no liability for any resulting inconvenience or loss.

If you use FLOOR to host events, you agree that:

• You are solely responsible for organizing, operating, and ensuring the safety of your events
• All attendee information shared with you (name, title, employer, industry) may only be used to facilitate your FLOOR event — not for marketing, solicitation, or sharing with third parties
• You will not discriminate in admission decisions on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or any other protected characteristic
• You will promptly notify FLOOR at support@floorapp.co of any incident, safety concern, or legal matter arising from your event

The FLOOR name, logo, platform design, and original content are owned by FLOOR and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use the FLOOR name, logo, or branding without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the platform (such as your profile information and event descriptions). By submitting content, you grant FLOOR a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and use that content to operate the platform.

Your use of FLOOR is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

FLOOR is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FLOOR and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, your attendance at any event, or any interactions with other users or hosts — even if FLOOR has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of $100 or the amounts you have paid to FLOOR in the twelve months prior to the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FLOOR and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your conduct at any event.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the District of Columbia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notice at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of FLOOR after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the platform.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and FLOOR regarding your use of the platform. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right or provision.
